Our Mission
AmCap Growth is a management consulting firm that works exclusively with venture capital backed startups through one of the most critical stages of a company’s growth cycle – raising venture debt.
At AmCap, our mission is to provide venture capital backed startups with the tools, knowledge, and connections necessary to successfully raise debt capital. We understand the unique challenges faced by startups and are dedicated to providing tailored solutions that drive growth and success.
Our team has developed a curated network of lenders that are actively committing debt capital to post-revenue and pre-profit sponsor backed startups. The ACG deal flow process, from data room prep to term sheet negotiations, is directly based on the feedback of venture debt funds, business development corps, commercial and investment banks, and other private credit lenders.
Our goal is to provide access to the venture debt asset class and source the best lending partner.
Our Team
Wendell Sammons, Managing Partner
Wendell Sammons has a diverse background in finance and banking, with experience in business development, relationship management, underwriting, capital markets and risk management. Wendell has primarily been a lender responsible for sourcing loan opportunities at various financial institutions, including venture debt providers, business banking, middle market, commercial and investment banking.
His decision to start AmCap Growth comes directly from witnessing the unfavorable experience of companies as they labor through a lender’s due diligence process, which far too often resulted in a “decline decision” or underwhelming “counter offer”. Wendell has fostered strong relationships with private credit lenders focused specifically on loans to venture capital backed startups and leveraged those relationships to carefully construct the ACG deal flow process.
Wendell is originally from Philadelphia and is an avid Philadelphia sports fan. He received his BA from Swarthmore College and MBA from the University of Notre Dame, Mendoza College of Business, and currently resides in Miami, Florida.
Kirk Salmon, Partner
Kirk Salmon brings expertise in risk consulting, commercial insurance brokerage, underwriting, and enterprise risk technology. He has been a driving force in leveraging risk analytics to craft and implement game changing programs aimed at mitigating adverse risk levels for innovative companies.
Kirk has spearheaded the delivery and oversight of comprehensive risk management and commercial Property and Casualty insurance solutions. Backed by AmCap Growth’s deep-seated understanding of the lending market, Kirk facilitates the discovery of optimal and cost-effective venture debt solutions tailored to each client’s specific needs.
Additionally, Kirk served with distinction in the United States Marine Corps, demonstrating exceptional leadership as a team leader during multiple deployments to the Middle East and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal for Wounds received in combat. Following USMC retirement, Kirk earned his B.A. in Finance & Risk Management from Temple University’s Fox School of Business in Philadelphia. Kirk remains actively involved in military veteran organizations, advocating for and supporting fellow veterans in their transition to civilian life and beyond. Kirk currently resides in Tampa, Florida.
